because having a personal website is underated
This was written by my former team manager when I worked for the Ministry of Justice Service Desk at Gen-i.
To Whom it may concern,
Chris Gilbert has worked for 'Gen-i' from October 2007 to April 2008.
Chris was contracted to Gen-i working on the Ministry of Justice Service Desk. The desk supports 5000 Ministry of Justice staff and their PCs and phones across New Zealand. The pressure on the Ministry of Justice account is quite high and Chris responded very well and was able to complete the tasks allocated to him. This was often handling High impact situations where he excelled and often received positive comments from the customer.
Chris was seen as a senior member of the team covering incidents in both IT and Telco situations. He was a good team player but was capable of working alone which he often did due to the rosters worked.
Today's desktop customers are very demanding and expect high levels of customer service and technical expertise. We offered a 'one stop' shop for both IT and Telco incident reporting and diagnosis and Chris was more than equal to the task.
I was Chris's manager for the majority of the above period and found him to be both an asset to the team and a very quick learner.
I have no problem recommending Chris for any PC and/or Telco support of Service Desk role.

Team Manger (Gen-i) - MOJ Service Desk
This was written by my friend and a long-time friend of my wife's family for a specific position, and has been generalized for here.
I am pleased to serve as a reference for Christopher Gilbert, who has recently applied for the position of Desktop Services Technician at [Organization].
I believe Christopher would be a welcome addition to your Desktop Services staff. While he has told me of his work experience in New Zealand with a top IT company, I have personally noticed that he performs computer maintenance and Web site support for numerous friends, family and acquaintances. While I do not claim to be an expert in computer and Internet technology, I am impressed to hear from those people that his work is superior to that of many professionals in the field, setting their minds at ease (and keeping their computers running smoothly). And he is always eager to do what it takes to keep abreast of the latest developments to come out of the industry.
In the more than two years I have known Christopher, I have found him to be a person who is driven to achieve any goal he desires. From navigating immigration laws to achieve legal status in the U.S. to working any job he has been given, I have seen that he is unafraid of hard work and willing to provide for his wife, Kelly. In addition, his active role in church youth activities shows he cares about people and that people are at ease with him. It is a pleasure to call Christopher a friend.
I believe he will more than adequately fit the job description given for Desktop Services Technician, and will prove to be an asset to the [community] as it grows.
Sincerely
RBB
